Week Three

Personal Family History

Listen to the Voki to learn about the tasks this week!

Task 6 - Creating a Podcast

This week we will be interviewing our own grandparents or an elderly neighbour, to discover what they remember about Breaffy from when they were young.

We will use digital equipment to create these podcasts.

For homework: Create a podcast of your grandparent or elderly neighbour using dictaphones. Bring one clear photograph of the person you interviewed to school along with recording if possible.

Key Questions to consider asking your interviewee:

-What can you remember about Breaffy from when you were young?
-What has changed in Breaffy?
-What has remained the same?
-What was your school day like?
-How did you get to school?
-Was there many in your class?
-Did you wear a school uniform?
-What games did you play?

Listen to this interview with my own grandad. You might get some ideas!

Requirements for your interview:
-Keep your interview on topic.
-Choose at least three key questions to include in interview.
-Don't make it too long (3 mins approx).
-Keep your narration clear.
-Sit close to your interviewee.
-Hold the dictaphone between yourself and interviewee.
-Make sure the dictaphone is recording!

We will upload these recordings onto our class laptops and edit them using audacity later in the week.

Task 7 - Creating a blabber

Having uploaded and edited our recordings of our grandparents or elderly neighbours, we will now create a blabber on blabberize using the photographs we collected for homework.

Requirements for your blabber:
-Add edited audio collected from interview to blabber
-Upload appropriate photograph.
-Use audio that informs listener about Breaffy.
-Keep blabbers short (2-3 mins approx).
-Make sure to save blabber.

Don't forget if you have any questions about blabberize, post them to the home page!

In case you forget, here is a tutorial on how to use blabberize

When you have completed your blabber, upload it to the Check Out Our Work! page
